Thank you for question. We've actually received the same comment from a number of our customers about the change of the appearance of the Disinfectant Cleaner. We have not changed our formula, but we understand it might have caught you off guard!
This milky or cloudy color is actually quite a common phenomenon for most disinfectants, especially if they are plant-based! Even with its cloudy appearance, our disinfectant spray still has its full cleaning, deodorizing and disinfecting powers.
So, why can our disinfectant turn cloudy? There are a few reasons, but it mostly boils down to temperature and aging. Boulder Clean’s disinfectant contains a plant-based citrus fragrance, that at certain temperatures might cause the disinfectant’s appearance to go from clear to cloudy. This change in temperature – and ultimately appearance – can occur during the manufacturing process, transportation stage or even while it's sitting in your pantry at home. The cloudiness might also occur from aging. If the disinfectant has been on shelves or under your sink for quite some time, it’s appearance might change. This does not mean the disinfectant is unsafe, expired or ineffective!
We understand the concerns behind the appearance of our Disinfectant Cleaner and can assure Boulder Clean consumers that the safety, effectiveness and quality of the product is not compromised by possible cloudiness. We'll continue to work towards a clear solution, but as of now our formula for the Disinfectant Cleaner has not changed.
