PREP: 15 Min. | COOK: 50 Min. | TOTAL: 1HR 5 Min.
- 1 pound ground beef
- ⅓ cup water
- 10 oz tomato sauce
- ½ cup ketchup
- 1 ½ teaspoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon Schultz’s Gourmet Original Seasoning and Rub
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon white sugar
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
- 1 baguette
- 1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar, divided
- 4 hot dogs, depending on the length of your baguette
- 2 tbsp. chives, for garnish
How To Make
STEP 1: Place ground beef in a large saucepan with water and Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, chili powder, salt, black pepper, sugar, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil and cook over medium heat until the chili has thickened slightly and the beef is fully cooked, about 25 minutes.
STEP 2: Preheat oven to 375°. Cut a small "V" down the length of the baguette and pull out some of the inside of the baguette, creating a boat.
STEP 3: Sprinkle 1 cup cheddar on the bottom of the baguette, then place hot dogs end to end until the baguette is filled. (This might mean cutting a hot dog to fit, depending on the size of your bread.)
STEP 4: Spoon chili over hot dogs and top with the remaining cheddar. Bake until warmed through and melty, about 25 minutes.
STEP 5: Let cool slightly, then garnish with chives. Slice into 3"-long segments and serve.
