Comforting Tomato Soup

Not in the mood for pasta, but need to use that jar of marinara in the pantry? We've got you covered! With this recipe you can turn your marinara into a warm, comforting, creamy bowl of Tomato Soup in just two steps and with only a few ingredients! We recommend serving with a crispy, gooey grilled cheese for dipping! 


  • 1 jar Pasta Jay's Classic Marinara
  • 1 14 oz can italian diced tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken stock
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 3/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 handful fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
  • 1 cup heavy cream

How To Make

STEP 1: In a large sauce pan, combine marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, chicken stock, oregano, dried basil, pepper, salt, and garlic powder over medium-high heat. Bring to a low boil, then reduce heat to medium-low.

STEP 2: Stir in heavy cream, grated parmesan, and chopped fresh basil. Stir until smooth and cheese is melted. Allow to cook over low heat for 5-10 more minutes to allow flavors to blend. Taste and adjust seasonings. Enjoy!
